Among the substrate surfaces that Dex-O-Tex Barrier-Guard Fracture Resistant Membrane can cover are concrete, wood or plywood (after special preparation). The membrane portion of the system is typically installed at a thickness of 40 mils (10.17mm). The fabric reinforced protection layer is typically installed between 60 mils and 110 mils. The finished system is usually between 100-150 mils plus or minus 10 mils dft (3.8mm plus) depending on use.
Where to Use
As fracture resistant waterproof membrane directly under ceramic tile, quarry tile, marble and seamless composition flooring in washrooms, showers, promenade decks (in certain climatic regions), between slabs, under computer access flooring, mechanical equipment rooms, toilet rooms, shopping malls, medical research animal housing, commercial kitchens, etc.
-Crack Isolation. Reduces reflective racking from the substrate to the final finish due to minor cracking in the substrate.
-Forms a monolithic tightly adhering molded membrane across floors and up bases, curbs, etc.
-Thin section. No depression of slab required.
-Installed by Approved Dex-O-Tex Applicators.
-Can be applied over new or existing surfaces.
-Environmentally safe. Contains no Organic solvents, and is VOC compliant.
